I'm not bothering getting into the debate as to whether the honours thing is good or bad. It simply gives hope to the Baldricks of this world, like myself. Congratulations to Barnsley author Joanne Harris, too, on being awarded an MBE. I've just realised. Jedi one will now have to address me as 'Sir', instead of just 'Baldrick' and 'The poor man's Tony Robinson'. Steve Houghton has been knighted, too.
I'm getting more and more concerned that should any hostile nation try to invade our country we'll take a right battering. We'll send forth our best knights to defend us, so on the front line we'll have Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tony Robinson.
How true is that, it winds me up all this celebrity b@llocks What is our country coming to? Me grandad was left on the beaches at Dunkirk as the last line of defence to help our lads get home and never got a thanks from anyone.
