Local voting trends inevitably mirror public feeling about Central Government.

    Local voting trends..

...tend to go against those to whom the media are currently of the mind to persecute.

Mid term a government is always public enemy No.1

    RE: Local voting trends..

It generally has to be the people in power, because there is in effect very little to criticise others for.

"More dentists being trained than ever before.....so blame the greedy dentists" - ask Spartacus about this one, he had a good rant at me on Saturday and I'm not a dentist!

    Totally agree!

Can't support Bliar on a national level but having had first hand experience of dealing with local Tories, Lib Dems and Labour then I'm afraid I wouldn't trust the Tories or Lib Dems as far as I could throw them. Labour guys at least tried to help, even if they were overruled as we have a Tory council.

    I'm the other way

Go with Labour nationally but rather have a change at local level.

I look at the individual candidate, Tories have caused us

to have 3 children at 3 different schools from September (with Lib Dem backing). Didn't want to know when we pointed out what they were doing. Also, Tory candidate was suspended last year for 'improper material' being on his council laptop. Tory will still get in mind. Vote for a monkey round here if he stood as a Tory they would.
