REDS defender Tony Vaughan is expected to complete a three month loan move to League Two side Stockport County later today. Tony, who captained the side last season and for the first week of the new campaign, could make his Hatters debut at Oxford United tomorrow. The 29-year-old signed for the Reds in the summer of 2004 but endured a first season hit by injuries and suspension, making just 27 appearances in all competitions, netting four goals. He missed the last three months of the campaign through injury and struggled to regain his place in the side adding two further substitute appearances this season. Tony has today joined up with his new team mates at Edgeley Park and is set to remain a County player until January 2 with a view to completing a permanent switch to the Cheshire side.
RE: REPLACEMENT NEEDED Surely Andy is not such a gimpoid as to send a defender out on loan when we have a **** defence. There MUST be a centre half signing today. We've also outed Simon Heslop on loan to Kiddy Harriers
RE: REPLACEMENT NEEDED Heslop's supposed to be a decent prospect. Not a bad move that if it toughens him up a bit. Ritchie can't go through this season with the defensive cover he's got at the mo, shirley.
