phone 111 tell them you're in agony and taken the maximum painkillers you can. Emergency dentists are open at weekends
Nice one thanks pal, Ice pack on mi face to slow the flow of blood to the tooth, and a trip to A&E, thanks everyone.
If it really is unbearable then it could be an abscess. If you're anything like me you'll probably have a load of excess prescription medications in a cupboard - see if you got any antibiotics, something like flucloxacillin, and make sure the use by date isn't too old. You might have some prescription painkillers as well. If you are relying on off the shelf stuff, then Ibuprofen is going to be a lot more effective than paracetamol given that tooth ache is generally caused by an inflamation. Clove oil does take the edge off temporarily but I've never really liked using it as it just seems to defer the pain to a burning sensation and generally gammy feeling in my mouth. Get drunk as well, it will still hurt but you won't give as much of a t0ss.
As Jedstar says the chances are it's an abscess,it may quieten down naturally but will more than likely recur, get to the dentist asap for a course of antibiotics,he can't do anything until the inflammation settles down, and then can extract or do a root filling...a thread on here suggested root fillings as not being successful for some...they do work if done properly. PS I find reading some of your posts like toothache, but for the time being I totally sympathise.. all joking aside......dentist asap
