Time for the stay away fans to start rolling back also. Davey applauded the crowd on Tuesday night, he acknowledges our understanding of the club situation.
Would be nice but..... looking at the games coming up, i'd settle for a solid top 10 spot at the mo! (Y)
not quite, I'd say top 10. playoffs would be brilliant but we're 7 points off so it would take some run. There is always (well, usually) a team that makes a late run for the playoffs, why can't it be us?
Very true. How do folk think we pay the wages of Macken, DeSilva and Nyatanga ? Certainly not through gate receipts.
lets not get carried away we have bought well but is there 6 clubs better than us in this division??? i think there might be 10!
Mid-table fine for this season. Year on year improvement.
Get rid of some of the players nowhere near the team. One or two new faces in the summer.
Playoff push next season.
But need to get the crowds up.

Thats hugely ambitious. Its still nothing compared with what other teams in this division spend. Our aim for now and coming seasons has to be to stabilise at this level which means punching above our weight
only way to get the crowds up imho... is perform on the pitch and PUBLICITY! with the odd ticket deal thrown in. That would mebbes see us average 11.5-12k hopefully.
Best signatures this season the ones on Cryne's cheque book.
We need to push on now, get up the table and get the crowds back. Otherwise in 2 years time when this lots contracts run out we're back to square one.

But relative to spend and wage bill we still would be a low to mid table team at the most and there are plenty of League One teams who spend more than us. I'm sure that being the savy business men they are Cryne and Shephard would realise that where we are now is a massive achievement. If we were outspending everyone I would agree with you but we are a small team in a division of very big clubs and we should be applauded for being there.
RE: Best signatures this season This season took a massive influx of players to move us forward. Some worked out, some didn't. But looking at the squad now compared to what finished last season we look much stronger. Now the next step needs to be gradual improvements. Move on a couple of players not getting in the team, bring in a couple of new signings. It shouldn't take as bigger change as we have had this year to keep this going.
RE: Best signatures this season imho DeSilva, Nyatanga, Macken, (Muller) haven't come here to achieve 12th in the Championship in front of a third full Oakwell. Barnsley public quite simply has to get to Oakwell in greater numbers allied with Davey finding a winning formula from the biggest squad at Barnsley in years.
It just shows though that if the players are not performing in training Davey is quite ruthless (and rightly so) and leaves them out of the squad e.g Johnson, Christenson and possibly Kozluck.
Fair enough Dirk I agree to a point but.. ...we're not sure what defines results here. Cryne may have set a target of, for example, top half of the table. If Davey delivers to the set target then he's got the result.
RE: Best signatures this season Agreed, and hopefully a decent run in the next few weeks, not being embarrassed by liverpool and an outside chance of the playoffs and the crowds will go up a bit. + wba, wednesday, united, hull, leicester(?) to play, that should help things.
I would much rather have anderson/nyatanga/macken/muller wanting better things than 3rd division journeymen just happy to be here. I haven't felt as optimistic in years, hopefully some of that will transfer to the stayaways.
