Just looked at the table, the top 6 in our league if we can't compete and be above them then the super reds have bigger problems than I thought. Burton Walsall, Gillingham Coventry Keef and flicker. I know we are not massive but chuff me that's not really a top 6 to reckon with Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
This division is bang average and if Lee Jay showed more balls with his tactics and team selections then there is no reason why we can't compete for a play off spot. Fortune sometimes favours the brave. We have some decent players but they won't reach fruition unless we play to their strengths and show more adventure.
I firmly believe that given the quality of the division, the players we have and the resources that we have that we should be competing for automatic promotion. The way to get there has shown by Bristol and MK Dons last season is to play fast vibrant attacking football. The way to be padding out the middle is to be cautious and negative and try to nick a goal from a set piece. Unfortunately we seem to be going for the latter. Still I suppose it's what constant change of manager gets you.
The league is the weakest its been for a while. If we can't make the top six at least it won't be because of the lack of quality in the team, it will be entirely the fault of LJ and his overly cautious, boring brand of football.
Lj needs to make some brave decisions on team selection and yesterday's team wasn't brave. He stuck the same team and formation that is not consistent. Lots of options for him, play 2 upfront drop Pearson to get CH in if you have to, drop winnall to get a big lad in upfront if Pearson or CH can't be dropped. At least just do something different. I felt the same at the end of DW reign that he persisted with the same set up even though it wasn't working and there were other options Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
Teams like us, Sheffield United, Swindon, Bradford and Chesterfield will all have settled soon after changes thoughout the summer in different ways and by the middle of October will be at the right end of the table. Sides like Walsall, Bury, Burton and Coventry will also fall. It's a form table at the minute and doesn't mean anything. The table only looks serious this time in a month.
Well I went to watch Peterborough v Walsall yesterday and it was complete gash, both sides played their part in an absolutely forgettable, soporific game. If Walsall are promotion material then we are Premier League.
Watford. Away from home, against a team they knew might fold if they could nick one. Played two up front. Job done. C'mon Lee - this torpid nonsense is not what the fans pay their hard-earned to see.
