or dwindling crowds in league 1 the decent players are sold in January due to no money and we are dragged into another relegation fight!

If you were going to rebuild the club do you think it would be easier in League 1 when there's a good chance of success and a better chance of getting fans through the gates of a winning team or in the Championship with more media coverage and higher profile of opposition not sure which one would need the more investment?

and spend every season seeing 21st Place every season as a target/achievement? I don't think so. I remember when we were a happy club who's fans just enjoyed Saturday afternoons!

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that once we start dropping down the divisions, it will come to a halt in Division 1. If we were to be relegated at the end of this season, there's nothing to say we won't be involved in another relegation battle next season. I don't understand why anyone thinks relegation this season will be automatically followed by a promotion push next, or, at worst, mid table security.

We've no idea who our manager will be. We've no idea who he'll want to bring in as his back up team. We've no idea if we will be able to hang on to any of the players who'll still be under contract. We've no idea how many of the out of contract players will be offered a new contract. We've no idea how many of our current players would want to stay at Barnsley and play in Division 1. We have no idea whoever the manager is whether he'll want any of the contracted, or out of contract players. When the manager starts to re build the squad, we've no idea what budget will be allocated to him.
If we were to be relegated, I think another relegation battle is quite a possibility. I'm usually an optimist, but I'm struggling to see how relegation this season will automatically mean a change in our fortunes for the positive.

I don't know what awaits us in the division below but can it really be any worse than 8 years of relegation struggles.

All this Championship every time stuff do we really want another sawn of loan players, youngsters not getting a game and a season long relegation battle?

You think the quality of player is bad now and the standard of football in League one is poor, still got memories of the ***** we played to actually escape that division, ne`ermind what we played when we almost dropped into the basement League.

We are a million miles away in terms of the way the club is run to the way we are run now. Behind the scenes we were in financial meltdown now we are well run and financially secure. Both Doncaster and Peterborough are no bigger than us and seem to not disintegrate when they got relegated.

Historically we have been a championship club now with the way that money has distorted football this is no longer our natural level. We have to accept that I think and find new equilibrium.
