Who are your favourite five Barnsley strikers in your time watching the Reds? I'm going for: 1. Ashley Ward 2. John Hendrie 3. Neil Shipperley 4. Paul Wilkinson 5. Bruce Dyer Shows how we've really lacked decent strikers in recent seasons. Notable mentions to Andy Payton, Ivstan Ferenvzi and Michael Chopra, not forgetting Frank Nouble and Dave Regis.
1: Ward 2: Hendrie 3: Shipperley 4: Hirst (would be higher had he stayed longer) 5: Aylott Special mention to Jan Aage.
Willie Ferry! "Big talentless fat geordie? lovely person with the turning cycle of a combine harvester signed by snivvler from s****horpe in 86,nicknamed the fridge possibly' cos he always had his greedy snout in one or may have been named after some american football star with simillar sounding name. " (credits to monkey tennis)
Ian Chandler Dazzling Darren Foreman Dave Regis Laurens Ten Hauval John Pearson seriously though, in no particular order.... Silky Dave Currie Ashley Ward Bruce Dyer John Hendrie Trevor Aylott
I missed Geddes out for the same reason as Hirst only reached number four on my list. Thinking about it he should have had a special mention from me.
1. John Hendrie 2. Trevor Aylott 3. Ashley Ward 4. David Geddis 5. Neil Shipperley Or seriously:- 'Neon' Deon Burton Fola Onibuje Maceo Rigters Dave Regis John Pearson
1. Ward 2. Hignett (ok not strictly a striker but I'm sticking with him) 3. Hendrie 4. Shipps 5. Aylott
1 Ashley Ward 2 David Geddis 3 Trevor Aylott 4 David Currie 5 John Hendrie Special mentions to Dyer and Shipperley and fond memories of Payton, Liddell, Wilkinson and Cunningham. Sadly, didn't see enough of Hirst and Speedie. Get Rammell on!
1. Ashley Ward 2. Trevor Aylott 3. Mick Butler 4. John Hendrie 5. Neil Shipperley Special mentions for Brian Joicey, Derek Bell, Bruce Dyer, Istvan Ferenczi and Andy Liddell
I think Geddis played about as many games as ward and scored about 24 from 50 games. Stattos will probably prove me wrong though.
1, Steve Cooper (He was a mentalist, loved him) 2, Ashley Ward (Total competitor) 3, David Currie ( Silky skills, could turn defenders inside out) 4, David Geddis ( Complete striker) 5, Trevor Aylott ( Old fashioned English centre forward)
