    Now that all the sales have started, buy all the Christmas presents you bought in the first place again, at half price. Exactly the same ones again. Take them back to the shop where you bought the originals to receive the full price refunds. You've now only spent half the money you thought you had.

    You mean to say that the UK hasn't cottoned on to that yet? Over here if you take something back you get the lower of the price you paid and whatever the current price is unless the store has some sort of 30 day guarantee in which case they will refund you the difference. Stops that sort of naughty behavior. Because I wouldn't do anything like that. Oh no. Unless it's a ski jacket from Debenhams that goes on sale 24 hours after you bought it so you take it back for a full refund and buy it back again half an hour later. That was over 10 years ago, mind.
