Probably not The trouble with this banter lark is that it's a bit tricky when there's such a gulf between the teams. It comes across rather like threatening small children.
I'm only teasing. It is a bit of a concern. Kuyt is in absolutely terrible form and you don't know what sort of day Crouch is going to have. And in a game you'll be wanting to stay tight, we could do with an early goal to ease the nerves.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. We're a different team on the road so I'm just hoping that today is enough of an occasion to work as a one-off. If we play like we did at Coventry then quite frankly it'll be embarrassing and a good job the BBC aren't showing it live. If we play like we have against other top teams this year then we might just make a game of it. Stand-in postie just delivered my Sheff Wed tickets and asked if it was a ticket for today. Turns out he's a Liverpool fan and couldn't get a ticket although he has been offered one for Arsenal v Man Ure. He didn't rate our chances today much either. Still, nobody rated our chances the last time we played at Anfield. Or the time before that . . .
We lost at Anfield four times last season - once against United, once against Barcelona and twice against Arsenal in both cups - and have only been beaten twice this - United again and Marseille. If we play like we did against Marseille earlier in the season, I'd say you've got a very good chance of pulling off an upset. But our record at Anfield under Rafa is rather impressive.
Do you know off hand . . . . . . how many times you lost there during our prem season? And who else you lost to? Would be nice to know what illustrious company we mixed with. And it's also fun to get you researching Liverpool home defeats on Fifth Round afternoon.
Man Utd again probably. Ok - research: Leicester 2-1 on the opening day Man Utd as I suspected - 3-1 Coventry in the FA Cup 3-1 Southampton 3-2 God, and our supporters complain now.
Not that illustrious, then Leicester, Coventry, Southampton and Barnsley. Fortress Anfield. Thanks for that. A return to that kind of home form would suit me just fine.
