Nothing unusual about losing a game to two breakaway goals when you've been the better team. It's something we've all witnessed practically every season over the years. Unfortunately, today's defeat was on the back of seven consecutive league losses and getting knocked out of the FA Cup in such a humiliating manner by Altrincham. I think every Barnsley fan is hurting tonight, where ever they may be. The club we all love is down and there doesn't appear to be any signs of recovery, no light at the end of the tunnel. After everything that's happened in Paris, it's shameful, pathetic & embarrassing to let mere football get me so down much, but it has.
PC should take note...when even JLWbiglil has had enough...it's time to get shut of Mr L Johnson and Mr B Mansford....who has gone strangely quiet lately....still it will be early saver time soon! hth
Thing is Kev, I have come away from games last month or two very blase and with an 'oh well' kinda attitude. It hasn't hurt and has just been an acceptance. Today I felt annoyed and fed up once again, this time because now I know we should, as a club, be doing something about this. Same problems, same mistakes with no visible improvement. If we aren't going to fix one of the worst problems in our club for many many years on the pitch then the problem will get worse, especially when ticket sales are down and we have seen that once people stop, it's hard to get em back.
Someone of my advanced years shouldn't be immature enough to let football affect him so much, especially when you take into account what's happened elsewhere. But it does.
Even though I've never harmed them, and never would do, my two dogs definitely appear to be giving me a wide berth tonight.
I think what has made today that bit harder to stomach is the fact we lost, but showed we have the quality in the team to have won. In other games ive been 'meh' but we always looked like losing, toothless and clueless. The switch to 4-4-2 has made a big difference but I can't see LJ rescuing us
Re: cripes.... they are giving YOU a wide berth Since I posted that, our German Shepherd has come and laid on my feet. She's bloody heavy!
Their 'keeper was definitely far the busier of the two. But, as much as I thought we were the better team, we've lost. Again.
Re: cripes.... they are giving YOU a wide berth Haven't I just posted that I would never harm my two dogs?
Re: cripes.... they are giving YOU a wide berth I wasn't going to go for a pint but I am now - feel numb. We had enough chances to win that game but didn't take them. Tried to stay off her recently because of the constant negativity - usual upbeat but finding it very difficult at the minute
