Sterling has failed and been a huge flop
Hodgson hasn't got any wide players now that can drive at defenders other than fullbacks that tend to hoof crosses into the middle
At one point against Wales there were 3 centre forwards on the field - all looking at each other wondering what their role should be
If you add Rooney to that lot then thats 4
IMO Hodgson has messed up what was a very promising set of players

Townsend should've definitely gone & I would've liked to have seen another winger as well. Not sure whether that would be Lennon but there's Walcott, Albrighton, Oxlade Chamberlain & probably a couple more in contention

I thought Lennon played the first two games? Or was it Sterling? Have you ever seen them in the same room together?

To be fair I think I rather would have seen Lennon go instead of Waheem, had a much better season. Even though both have no end product.

We are fortunate that we have now got plenty of players that can score
But it's no good having 3 or 4 centre forwards on the field - when we haven't got players on the field that can open up defences and create chances
Hodgson got out of jail against Wales - he knows it - just look at the worried look on his face even when England had equalised
    We were lucky
That luck may not be there against a better team than Wales

Adam Hammill is a very good English winger.

I agree about Townsend, even he would have saved that Bake free-kick

Oxlade Chamberlain is injured unfortunately, so not available to Roy. Townsend was a stupid omission. In good form - always does well for England, and fabulous shot. But also let's not forget Welbeck is a massive loss.

Oh dear, I've descended into Ancient Tyrone in that last post. Too late to Bale myself out with an edit...

I agree about Townsend, he always seemed quite decent when playing for England.

Yes but so did Peter Crouch.

Plus he's a Championship player now, can't have had that good a season.

Walcott been poor, Chamberlain has been even worse, an attacking mid/winger and not one goal or assist, all round general play been poor this season. Wouldnt be surprised if he left Arsenal. I personally don't rate Welbeck that highly, love his determination and work rate just don't think that merits him a call up - although I'd have him over Sterling anyday. Antonio deserved a call up, played brilliantly as a winger for West ham, and I agree Townsend should have gone!
