Anyone know how the traffic/floods are looking around Darton? I am just about to head back North from Nottingham, Cheers,
fecking hell, can't be that bad? Quite a bit of flooding up here, which is erm..."fun" on a bike! Nothing been closed off though.
Chaotic As mentioned, centre of Darton is closed. I'd come from Halifax via Flockton, and the roundabout at Haigh was queued up as traffic was trying to get up the hill at Haigh....never known so much traffic going up there. At J37 of M1 the traffic on the sliproad from southbound was queued onto the motorway, Dearne FM reported that traffic wasn't moving on Harborough Hills (a caller had mentioned they had been trying to get out of the Alhambra car park for 2 hours and gone down 1 level)....so I assume a few people trying to take alternative routes to get to Wakefield Road.
darton is shut by post office and dearneall road is shut to get to mapp side of darton u need to come off motorway at haigh go to westbretton and across to woolley edge
trafic absolute everywhere, earlier left monk bretton to go to keir st (summer lane) took atleast an hour.
Motorway was ok (well the bit I was on between Haigh and Barnsley) but the queues on sliproad at Barnsley were stretching onto the motorway
What about royston? Not fancying trying to get out of wakey, its a pain at the best of times. Bet chantry bridge is a nightmare.

RE: What about royston? Everywheres going to be bad, im in leeds trying to plot a way back through wakey, walton, royston then onto monk bretton.
I drove from Huddersfield via Cawthorne Not a single problem. It sounds as though I got lucky - as Darton is my usual route.....
