its not often i get to watch them train but ive got a few days off work and its a nice day so i thought i'd nip down and take a look. i hadnt been to watch them train since davey was in charge before he decided to ban people! lol. very impressed with how keith and flicker sorted the lads out, all the sessions were focused on 2 touch passing and movement and how to close the opposition down when we hadnt got the ball. all through he was raising pointers to the players telling them how to improve " dont close him down there wait for him to come then get in" or telling foster that he has to "be comfortable on the ball fozzy" or "wisey, mcnulty get down those flanks when we attack use the space offer options" all the team seemed very together, plenty of talking when playing encouraging eachother offering encouragement and advice and the odd b***king and plenty of micky taking. the banter from the staff and the players was none stop, keith seemed to particulary like ripping bobby hassell "its two touches at all times unless your bobby and you cant effing count" or " when bobby takes over as manager you can do what you want lads" lol Young Digby looked very good in training, strong powerful and comfortable on the ball, danny rose and stones also looked very good as did young allistair (cant remember the kids sirname) drinkwater was the stand out player for me looks excellent. good news is that vaz te trained, doyle trained, addison trained and not sure if edwards was there too. craig davies didnt join in full training but was doing laps round the pitch with the physio. after such a good training session with great passing and looking a good side its a bit sad to say even in the training game we hardly scored and missed chance after chance.
Thnaks for this. Did Perkins train? If not I see same team as Tuesday with Doyle in for Perkins. Doyle offers more than Addison
no problem, next time im off work i'll nip down again. really enjoyed watching them and it was obvious they were actually enjoying training. i forgot to add on my first post that cameron park was also training and keith hill was praising him telling him how good he had been. another intresting thing was he was encouraging defence splitting passes from drinkwater and butterfield............thats alright if u have davies or haynes to run on to them but not andy gray
good read. It is good news for me that there is a chance doyles fit given the football we are trying to play. Offers more than addison and doesn't get out run my a traffic cone.
Ruled himself out, say's he's been getting stick from the supporters over his ginger hair and certain chants aimed at him.
No idea where it came from just that Keith hill kept mentioning it to wind him up! Seemed like an "in" joke between the players and management
Yes, that was a fascinating insight. Id love to get down myself if I didnt have work. But yeah, great read that pal.
