Just had a call from somebody, I have no idea who they were but they mentioned Shaun. Anyway, he told me to 'get on' Tranquility Cove in the 1,25 at Lingfield. And Shaun will be in touch apparently. Can't wait. Only SP showing on my phone so dont know the odds. Spread the love.
Sporting Life racecard suggests it'll be about 13/2 which brings it into E/W territory. Unless he means he wants you to literally "get on" it in which case no offence but I'll probably keep a watching brief this time around.
If it wins they'll ring you back and ask you if you got on it. Then they will try and get you to pay for it/future ones. If you say you didnt back it they may get agressive and accuse you of wasting their time (Yeah i know they rang you). Well, thats what happened to me !!!
Tranquility Cove First time out, and a filly against a colt, four geldings and three other fillies. Jockey: Gibbons - last 14 days: 2 wins from 28 rides = 7%; season: 15 wins from 71 rides = 21% Trainer: Barron - last 14 days:0 wins from 4 runners = 0%; season: 15 wins from 130 runners = 12% Huffoof (trained Roger Varian; owned Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum) takes the eye, and Lady Who (trained Ralph Beckett) rates a 'p' for improvement with Timeform. The David Simcock/Jamie Spencer colt also takes the eye. All in all, I'd rate Tranquility Cove about a 15% chance of winning, meaning that you'd want about 11/2 or better to be getting value. Of course the reality of these type of muggings is that they contact you with one horse, and others with different ones in the race - so if they actually "tip" the winner to any of their lucky correspondents, they'll get back in touch claiming how clever they were, and asking for cash for tipping that selection, or requesting some to provide the next one. Charlatans all, and no substitute for doing your own homework, and making your own calculation of percentage chances and acceptable odds. In my opinion, Al Enbess will win, by the way, but I'd want 4/1 or no bet. Hope this helps.
LOL. I don't think I will be backing it myself. Just telling the story. I have had them before, they won't get a penny out of me.
Blimey Orsenkaht!! That's a bit informative Given that I take 4 days off every year for the Cheltenham Festival, and yet never keep up with the minutiae of form following, do you have any ideas for the less celebrated races? I know that they all seem to have multiple entries, but horses to follow would be most welcome!! Without liability ovo!! Ta
Went off as 11/4 favourite. Finished 7th. orsenkaht picked out the winner Al Enbess, returned 3/1. Respect.
He knows his Orse's and Kaht's, so he does. The "hope this helps" comment at the end of his post seemed vaguely familiar, though.....
No, Bossman - I'm not "thereev", although I think we miss the latter's mixture of bluff and arrogance! To tell the truth, I'd forgotten about this post. The approach to this race (where I didn't have a bet, btw) is what we're aspiring to. That's the only way to long term profit. I'll shortly have more time to apply it - courtesy of my employers! HTH!
