How does everyone feel we did in the transfer window?

Are you happy with the players we brought in? Is the squad big enough or too big? Could we have done with strengthening any areas in particular? Do you think we could/should have spent more money on transfer fees/wages? Should we have signed more permanents and less loanees? Do you think we have enough to survive?

I personally think we have done alright given what we were left with at the end of the season and I'm looking forward to seeing how they all develop over the course of the season. I think the size of our squad is just about right and the balance in the team is looking a lot better. Maybe we could have strengthened the CDM position a little more as Williams seems to be our only ball winning midfielder?

Money wise I think we spent quite a bit for us and I'm more than happy to keep the wage structure as it is for the time being as I think its a huge risk for a club of our size tying players down for 3 years on 10-15k a week wage. Splashing the cash can pay off if you get promoted but it is a massive gamble. We would have had to have spent a ridiculous amount of money to match what the top 7 or 8 teams have spent over the last couple of years and I just don't think we have the finances to do that at the moment. This could all change after the take over of course although I wouldn't want us to stray too far from the policy we currently have.

In my opinion as long as the lads keep putting a shift in as they did in the Sunderland game we will be fine. My only concern is that if we go on a bad run their confidence will take a huge knock and will be hard to put right given they are such a young group. Hopefully that doesn't happen and we can all enjoy another exciting season in the championship!

I think once Fryers, Isgrove and McGeehan join the squad and Mallon settles in plus the 2 new lads in yesterday we are looking strong my only slight concern would be an injury to Davies

Really pleased and I usually moan about our signings. I just wanted a squad of players we own, even if it's only for a year before we sell them to Villa. Plus the lads on loan look very good and not just squad fillers. Cover everywhere, so looks good to me, so watch it go all tits up now.

^^^^^^^ This^^^^^^^^ Just to add I believe there are provisions to bring in emergency goalkeeper cover for this type of situation after the window closes

I'd give us a 5/6 out of 10 though it's far too early to really know. We have recruited plenty of potential but a squad with little or no experience at this level. That worked ok last year whether it can do the same this year only time will tell.

We lack quality in defensive midfield as it's a big ask to rely on Williams over a full season. We also lack a box to box midfielder in the Scowen mould. We also don't look great at left back if Yiadom is injured/out of favour.

On the plus side if the potential of 5/6 of the signings comes to fruition it will be a joy to watch them develop.

I hope the team doesn't miss Scowen anywhere near as much as I miss watching him in Reds shirt.

Yea i agree with this. Cant wait to see isgrove back in the side. Mcgeehan might take a little longer to get up to speed but when he does he could be really important for us.

No one can say with any confidence that it's been a good window because we've got 16 new players & not had the chance to see if they're up to it yet but all you can say is we've got depth in every position & we've got no wasters on the books who we can't offload. So in that sense it's been good
