I am Goin to Portsmouth on train to meet this a friend butt i want to try and AVOID ALL London stations and prefebly no more than 1 change over is this possible. Cheers (worship)
Sheffield to Southampton Parkway Get the Newcastle to Poole train from Sheffield Calling at Chesterfield, Derby, Birmingham New St, Birmingham International, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Banbury, Oxford, Reading, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton Parkway, Southampton (Not that I've been on it loads of times or anything!) You can get a train or bus into Pompey from there. Also look at connections from Reading I guess it's about 4 hours from Sheff.
You used to be able to go via Brimingham. </p> I've neve had any problem going via London. What's the issue?</p>
i dno really i think the fear of gettin lost : en changing trains too often does head in. cheers once again
Unless it's changed it used to be one or two tube stops to Waterloo after stopping at St Pancras/Kings Cross. I used to enjoy it.
RE: Sheffield to Southampton Parkway No you cannot get train or bus to Pompey from Southampton Parkway. You can from Southampton Central. Other alternative is change at Basingstoke or Winchester and get train from there.
