I'm off to Rutland tomorrow near Stamford but I'm wondering which will be the best route. Route finder is telling me the m1 but is it not 50mph from Worksop onwards. When I e been to Peterborough in the past the a1 seems to be a far better road.

I have to be there for 9.00, any advice willbe welcomed.

    Cheers

I head down that way from time to time and always use the A1.

Dunno I always find the M1 much better for making progress even with the long 50 zone, obviously as the A1 is generally two lanes I seem to be forever following lorries that are over-taking each other so I avoid it unless I need to be over that way for Kings Lynn or Norwich etc.
