Seeing the Bostock example I think the tribunal system is becoming a farce for lower league clubs. How are clubs suppose to encourage youth development if top division clubs can come and take a player off them knowing that the outcome at the tribunal is going to be far lower than what a club is asking for.

Surely the tribunal system must protect clubs outside the top flight? Bostock 700k, this amount is pennies to a prem club yet the system always seems to favor the larger clubs when it comes to the younger players. It would great to see Tottenham have to pay 5million for Bostock setting an example for larger clubs to take note and not think they can pick and choose youungster as they please?

Fair enough the value clubs put on players are far higher than they are worth but agin this comes back to the TV money where the amount has become so great that clubs outside the prem are all trying to get a share when it is the football league clubs that need it the most. Surely the Tribunal System could be used as a means to spread more money out across all clubs?

    Yeah it's pathetic

A player who's being allegedly being tracked by Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham raises £700,000.

    The system's flawed.

Simon Jordan seemed pissed off after reading yesterday's Daily Mirror. And now he says he's trying to sell the club.

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has revealed his intention to sell the Championship club.

Jordan, who bought Palace out of administration in 2000, says he has grown disillusioned with the game and the final straw was the recent decision of a Football League transfer tribunal to award the club only £700,000 following 16-year-old John Bostock's move to Tottenham.

Jordan said: "Without a shadow of a doubt, this is my last year. I've taken the club as far as I can. I am not demotivated by the team, manager or fans. But I have been disillusioned with football for a long time."

He added: "It's my specific intention to find a buyer this season. I will do nothing to affect manager Neil Warnock and I will be absolutely committed to the club and I will find a responsible buyer.

"I kept my sanity by pumping millions of pounds into my academy, feeling the saving grace of my club was finding players who would be chomping at the bit and honoured to play in the first team.

"But that's been taken away from me as well. Bostock was one of the best players my academy has produced in the last 10 years - and he has been sold for a packet of crisps."

Our academy is pretty **** IMO.

It neither works as a profit making machine nor does it work as a conveyor belt for the first team.
