    Fred West, Ian Brady, Myra Hindley, Robert Black, Roy Whiting.

    It's just as easy to make a case for the death penalty with more 'sound' convictions.

    For the record I don't want the death penalty on the basis that if it's wrong to take a human life then it's wrong to take ANY human life. However abhorrent I might find their crimes.

    I'd like to see life sentences mean life, but that's another issue.

    Fair point.

    My argument will always be that 20 years ago, his conviction was 'sound'. 9 eye witnesses all pointing the finger at him. Now only 2 and plenty coming out to say it was another fella.

    Now it could go either way - they've heard he's going to get the lethal and changed their story.

    Just read some background to it - reinforces my distaste for the death penalty. And some Americans. Black bloke had every chance in Georgia....
