I'm not sure, but I think Alan Ball played in the first-ever game I saw at Oakwell. 1979 Reds 3 Blackpool 0 with Ball player-manager I think, but I was only a wee bairn at the time. Any of you super-memories able to confirm? Thanks

He died while trying to put out a bonfire apparently Fire crews found him, close to a bonfire at his home. Administered first aid until the ambulance arrived but he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
