Turnstile operators in away end charged their fans 20 quid for today

I can't believe that's true. It would take a matter of minutes to get some change sent round to those turnstyles wouldn't it?

£20 for a football match should be the top price anyway, anything over that is a fecking rip off. Although, how many paid £24 for Anfield and £25 for Chelsea yet thought Peterborough was too expensive?

Did no-one have £5 notes either? Why £20, not £25?

Trying not to believe this is serious, but suspect it could have actually happened. If so, we need answers, given that the whole basis for our pricing structure over the past few seasons has been to maximise away fan revenue.

OK, so assuming this is genuine (which it appears to be, reading the HTFC forum) then they've just made a total mockery of the whole "discounted tickets can't be sold on the turnstiles" argument that was made previously and have probably just broken the rules on discriminatory pricing, but in a way which disadvantaged any Barnsley fan who paid full price yesterday.

Honestly, what a shambles! I thought we couldn't sink any lower with the corner shop mentality by which this club is run, but we keep finding new ways to embarrass ourselves.

Whoever authorised this shouldn't be allowed within a mile of Oakwell ever again, and I think the Supporters Trust needs to make enquiries to find out the background to this. I'm struggling to find any acceptable justification for this being allowed to happen.

 

We should be suprised but to be honest I'm not. If they are gonna make it pay on the gate, at least be prepared for it!

Also, on another note - was in the ticket office yesterday when a Dad & his kid walked in asking how much a ticket for a 9 year old was as they had been asked to pay £18 at the turnstiles. The person at the ticket office said it was £7 and was shocked they'd been asked to pay £18 for the kid...Dad said they nearly turned round and went home. Wonder how much we've lost from bad communication re: ticket prices?
