    Have to beat Yeovil

I would have taken a draw against Brentford but I'm begining to think only a win will do also.

Looking at the other teams, if have a slightly consistant run then we'll have a great chance. Nobody is standing out yet.

Ritchie said he was happy with his squad

but he needs to pick a team and formation that can keep clean sheets and win games, else the knives will be out. and before anyone pipes up with "only 3 games", he had 17 games last season, and we looked like a leaky dog at the back throughout.

Colgan and Carbon have loser stamped all over them. he needs to get them out of the side or get ready...

    Maybe

but I think we'll score more than them.

    Here I go again ...

... still not changed my mind:

    ''In summary:
GK - Not got an established keeper.
DF - No left back & a bunch of Spackers in the middle.
MF - Still can't see a system that would work ... and no cover.
CF - None of them have ever scored plentifully in this division.

Basically I think we are going to struggle badly.

To get out of this division you need one of two things - (1) a well organised team of battlers with a good defence or (2) a team who have proven strikers who will fire you out of trouble.
Last season Wednesday were the battlers & Luton were the scorers. We are neither.''

    Cheap option manager

can see it getting messy on Sat if we dont take all 3 points. I might join you behind the goal and assist Colgan with his positive mental attitude.

    RE: Cheap option manager

what has colgan done wrong? some wonderful saves on saturday! it makes me wonder if you are barnsley fans, try getting behind the team, we seem to think that we have this god given right to be top of the league. if we spent more time supporting than we do criticsing we may see a change of fortune on the pitch.

and a Billy the Fish impression for the winning goal. never leaves his line, shaking liking a shitting dog when the ball comes over from the wing, and creates an atmost of sheer panic amongst fans and players alike. he's one of the main reasons we cannot seem to hold out away from home.

    Maybe you are right?

Or maybe we just have a crap team?

I think that if you honestly feel that good fans can seriously change the fortunes of a bad team ... then you are either very naive - or just a bit of a mentalist.
Look at Man City ... great fans in large numbers - and still ended up in this Joeyfied division.

As I said - still not changed my mind.
    Bottom 4.

    As a former happy clapper

I have to disagree. No matter how much you sing and shout you won't turn this lot into winners and battlers. You waste your breath week in week out.

Yes we sang in the Premiership, but we had the privledge of seeing 11 quality players turning out for the Reds week in week out, who deserved our support and were proud to wear the shirt.

It's nowt to to with god given rights to be top of any league. The players we have, as a group with a few individual exceptions are quite simply not good enough. No amount of singing will change that...a lot of the players simply don't give a **** anyway

ok then replace him with flinders, how long before he starts to make mistakes then fans get on his back, lets face we do have some poor fans, lets face it our glory days have passed, we are now in the 3rd division of english football and its gonna be a long hike back to the championship league.

I seem to recall Flinders making a couple of mistakes last season

and he did not get loads of abuse. The difference is that Flinders can and will improve and make less and less mistakes. Colgan will never get any better.
