Unfortunately it will be all for naught if Johnson persists with the same style of football.

It's been said before but I am struggling to think of any meaningful attempts on goal other than the one we did score against Chesterfield, and this pointless tip-tapping across the back four then passing it to the midfield for them to do the same, all in our half of the pitch, achieves bugger all.

We might have tripled our striking options but with the complete lack of service this will not translate into goals.

I said pretty much the same yesterday. At home we should go 4-4-2 and really have a go at the opposition.

I don't think it's the system that is the problem, more that Sam Winnall doesn't suit that role. He's an incredible striker when he has a partner with him, he looks frustrated and tired when he's having to chase around on his own. Because of this, we struggle to bring the midfield in, which is the reason why Nyatanga, Mawson and Roberts will score more goals this season than Pearson, Scowen and Crowley.

I'm also not sure if we have the right players to play 2 in midfield. I'd happily let Scowen play on his own but who do you put next to him? I think Pearson would get found out more in a midfield 2, and Hourihane certainly can't play in a 2.

The best option for me would be 3-5-2, which incorporates both 2 strikers and 3 central midfielders. I think Wabara would do a job at wing back on the right, however I think we're a left wing back short. Not sure whether we could play Harris in that role.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't play two upfront today. Probably M Smith and Winnall

With the addition of Smith and Jackson to the squad, I'm sure we'll play 442 at some stage today...hopefully from the start against a struggling team like Shrewsbury.

I would like to see Wabara playing as right wing back as he clearly has the ability to get forward and put a ball into the box. I think we should offer him a longer term contract. The problem is that Johnson doesn't want players getting forward and putting crosses in. He'd rather have static players playing six yard square balls which is why the football has been so dire.
