DESPITE what some people say - most of them, come to think of it - I'm not stupid. And one thing I've realised is that when fans vent their anger against a manager and the board, there are only two possible outcomes. Either the directors back the boss. Or, as in the case of Barnsley's Simon Davey, it's time to pack their bags. One point from the first five games has left the Tykes rooted to the foot of the Championship but no one ever got relegated in September. I've no doubt someone of his ability will be back in the game soon. I just hope it's witha club that befits his talent. It looks like Mark Robins will take over. I wish him all the bets - he's got a hell of a fight on his hands.
TYKES TOO QUICK TO REJECT ME - Chris Kamara DESPITE what some people say - most of them, come to think of it - I'm not stupid, just bitter. And one thing I've realised is that when fans vent their anger against a manager and the board, there are only two possible outcomes. Either the directors back the boss. Or, as in the case of Barnsley's Simon Davey, it's time to pack their bags. I've no doubt someone of his ability will be back in the game soon. I just hope it's with a club that befits his talent. It looks like Mark Robins will take over. What id say to the likes of Kamara is......... Love our team, buy a season ticket, travel to some away matches and know how we feel on Saturdays. Then reconsider over your opinion that Davey was sacked too early. There may be a club which that befits his (alleged) ability but I wouldnt like to hazard a guess to which tier of football it belongs.
And what i'd like to say to him is "who was the last club to have approached you about a vacant managers job?"
All these "pundits" that say he shouldn't have gone, etc If you'd asked them the week before "What about the problems at Barnsley?", they would have remembered the wins against Chelsea and Liverpool and thought 'what you on about?'..........
How does he conclude that: Someone of Davey's talent will be back in the game soon YET the new manager has a fight on his hands? Who left the new manager with a fight on his hands? The man in the moon? Fred West?
Didn't the pillock say more or less the same when we sacked Ritchie?
The thing about these so called experts who are "inside" the game, they know all about the clinical science of the game (or they have at least seen a bit of that side of the game), but they are not fans, they have no idea whatsoever of what it means to support a team, the way that it affects every part of your life and the way it evokes an emotional response out of you. All they see is the opportunity of the next payment from the "industry",the next opportunity to feel self important and the next freebie they can wangle.
I wonder when he last paid to watch a football match?

The guy make every effort to show his ignorance about us... Clearly he doesn't look at the tables or the manager's statistics on results to measure whether he is doing a good job. It is clearly alright not to watch any of our matches (apart form the chelsea and liverpool cup matches) and call it 'good football'. Chris Kamara - if the results are so bad that you narrowly avoid relegation three years running, the quality of the football is so disorganised and tactically inept that it's just not worth watching, and you're screwed to the floor of the division with nothing even approaching a win in five games PERHAPS it's reason enough to fire the manager? OR perhaps, Chris, because we're little old Barnsley, we have to be 'realistic' and accept relegation or at the very least, another season of exactly the same. The fact is that 'pundits' like Kamara (and there are plenty of others like him) have a pigeon hole for 'Battling Barnsley' - and that means that we're impoverished and lucky to be alive, and probably not worth a place in this division. For them, we ought to accept whatever we are given and just let the other teams around us get on with trying to be successful. The fact that Davey got to spend more money than plenty of other managers in this division, or the fact that we're the club with the longest standing history of second tier football in the country, OR the fact that Patrick Cryne was reasonable and patient enough to give Simon Davey much more time than the average manager gets in charge of a football club, should in no way obscure or obstruct the opportunity to have another pop at 'Battling Barnsley' or try to unsettle the new manager. I hope that Mark Robins rams the words down the idiot's throat. He ought to be banned from Oakwell. The clown.
I don't know why you're all bothering.. to get wound up. The guy was a mediocre player who, not good enough for a job in the game, is now a mediocre pundit.
His opinions aren't worth ****.

same Kamara who kept applying for the barnsley job and never got close. Infact the Oakwell cat was higher up the pecking order
