New West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo says he is happy to press ahead with a deal for Simon Cox.

Swindon Town accepted an offer for Cox earlier this week before Di Matteo succeeded Tony Mowbray in the Hawthorns hot seat.

Di Matteo confirmed a deal has been agreed and he expects the striker to complete his move next week after he has undergone a medical.

"I am aware of the deal and that we have agreed terms," said Di Matteo.

"The player will be coming in next week for a medical.

"He is a very good player, has a very good scoring record and I am happy for the deal to go ahead."

Cox will reportedly cost the Baggies a fee in the region of £2million and he had also been linked with Celtic and Leicester City following an impressive last season at Swindon.

<p align="justify">Dean Morgan became an instant favourite with Luton fans after his 90th minute winner in the 3-2 victory over Southampton in August 2005. Morgan moved to Kenilworth Stadium from Reading in July 2005 after seeing his opportunities limited at the Madjeski Stadium. The former Colchester striker scored three league goals in 13 starting appearances for the Royals. Morgan, who once had a trial with the Hatters earlier in his career, came through the ranks at Colchester where he scored six goals in 25 appearances, including a 35-yard screamer against Cardiff City at Ninian Park. Dean is a skilful midfielder who likes to get forward at every opportunity.</p><p align="left"></p></div></div></div></td></tr></tbody></table>

The steady decline in quality of the club is great to see.

just been to the club shop to price a shirt for my grandson then on to talk with the guys who come to see them train. Quite a fiasco down there by all accounts with the guys who go to watch. They are banned from the premises per se, even the use of toilets. If they infringe the bounderies they have been told(allegedly) the Police will be called to remove them. Davey, it would appeare is not a happy bunny and doe'nt want fans having discussions with the players.

Agreed. The players are at work so don't need distracting by fans who for some reason enjoy watching them train.

Dean Morgan is the son in law of the former Luton Town player and Assistant manager, Brian Stein. A bit of useless info!

So all this 'stronger together' and 'my town, my club ....

.... my blood' malarky then, does that only count on a matchday or when you are handing over some cash?

The rest of the time Davey can tell you to f*ck off and call the Police 'cos you might see his Conference recruits/triallists??
