Just found out that the NHL (US ice hockey) fixtures have been released. Thought I'd have a look if any games on whilst I'm in New York in October - unlikely for the NY Rangers I thought as they play at Madison Square Garden and U2 are playing 5 nights there (I see them on the Friday) but Thursday is a blank night for them and the Rangers are home to New Jersey! Get in! So sorted! Off to NY on the 11th, Rangers match on 13th, U2 on 14th, fly to New Orleans on 15th and the New Orleans Saints game on the 16th. It's that or Blackpool at home....hmmmm!(chinny)
Indeed they are massive wage bill, underachieve all the time. Be an interestin****eason though with the new rules and salary caps etc. Some interestin****ignings being made with many players being released from contracts and being free agents. Some of the "smaller" teams could well benefit - particularly the Canadians. But I've seen the Rangers play so they are one of my teams, 2nd to the Blackhawks. And I detest New Jersey so should make for a good game to watch! Also will be the first time I've really seen a "meaningful" game as my previous 2 NHL games were towards end of season when neither of the teams could make the playoffs.
RIGHT! Will somebody sort out the filter - can't have 2 words together with one ending G and the other startin' S!
hey?! You seriously thing that ice hockey is a wimps sport?! And baseball has more in common with cricket. The only link with baseball and rounders is the fact there are 4 bases. "Cricket - it's like baseball on valium" - Robin Williams
yes, they wear padding and only girls played hockey at my school But at least they let they Canadians in the world championship
RE: yes, they wear padding and only girls played hockey at my school And the Finns and Swedes and Czechs etc. Aye - girls game ok........did you say that when the British mens team won Olympic gold? So cricket is for girls as well then? They wear padding, far more than baseball players!
British mens hockey team All public school @rse bandits. Therefore girls game. I cheer on the British women in the olympics too. Scandanavians only in the sport for the money....FACT, cos they are tonnes better than the yanks but they generally acknowldege it's a girls game. Avatar just for you in the office ff ff
The GB team were all Canadian ahhhhh the Empire ..... great days. I am not sure you are allowed to hit the batter though in Baseball. (NOOO)
Swedish bandy players think ice hockey is for pussies! bandy being 11 aside ice hockey, played to football rules, offside etc. so ner! Mind, anyone who can skate would rather be decent at hockey on the offchance they get good enough to milk the NHL cash cow.
RE: The GB team were all Canadian ahhhhh the Empire ..... great days. Well ya can hit the batter in baseball - he just gets to walk to 1st base. Does happen intentionally as well and cause some right rucks! One game last week the pitcher got it returned at 90mph right on his head!
Saw that on Eurosport once , what a strange game ...... Looked like they were playing Field hockey with upside umbrellas and an orange golf ball.(blaze)
seen it live, minus 20 celsius can't say it was pleasant. And every time the forwards missed the ball, it simply went for a goalkick (bit like Oldham away on their plastic pitch in the rain) There's a 6 inch barrier at side tho to keep it in, but it's all a bit pointless. And god knows why they have keepers, they never save owt! (And neither would you when someone whacks one of those things at you) 9-3 it was. I saw Boltic - so named (sad fact) cos the team was formed in the 50s and the geezer liked Bolton and Celtic. Not that I knew THEY had bandy teams! F***ing cold tho. REALLY cold.
Went to orlando last two summers but first one never got chance too go to any games of any sport. Wanted to see a basketball match desperately but away fixtures meant we couldt go. second time went for see Tampa Bay devil rays. never really understood baseball but got really into it while over there seen as that was the only thing worth watching on tv. Great game, cheap to get in (only £3, dearest tickets were £60 tho) and that atmosphere was great. Went again the week after even tho it took an hour to get there on the crazy highways of the usa
RE: Indeed they are Steelers have an exciting season planned. My lad plays for the Steelers Under 10s and there is a exciting junior season expected too
