Same ****, different day mate Basically - the club has these 'open meetings' for the supporters where they answer questions and generally give out information. Then it's supposed to be treated like it's all a big secret and a number of people come back on here to either 1) 'leak' the information and thereby give the club a scapegoat when the said player doesn't sign or 2) play the 'I know something you don't know' game.
from what I can make out Davey or someone else named a Serie A players that we're looking to sign - an Italian winger or something - and everyone at the meeting knows who it is, and which club he is currently with, but nobody is supposed to say owt. That's my understanding. Personally I find it hard to get excited until the pen is on the paper. The club can link themselves to who they like - doesn't mean owt. If I hear about another delay on the Adam Hammill deal (who is definately signing, but for his teeth and his agent, his mother's cat, the fact that there is a 'T' in the month etc etc) i'll have had enough altogether. On one hand we're talking about who we're signing (Hammill) on the other hand we're all hush hush (Italian wingers, nods as good as a wink to a blind man - know what I mean etc).
Aye maybe. Not that long since the club linked itself to Kevin Phillips - so I don't know what to believe.
