Just been down to Oakwell to see the U18s play Leicester. Lost 2-1 but played really well and we seem to have more great prospects coming through Players who stood out for me: Lewis Wardle: Right back, been called up for England youth training camps. He's a right back but is very different in his playing style to other right backs who have come through the academy such as Bree. He is fast, likes to get forward and involved in challenges and is also very skillful and helped some great attacks for us. Top prospect Jack Alton: Central midfielder, burst onto scene for U18s in FA Youth Cup against Newcastle when he scored an amazing 30 yard strike back in December 2013. Scored our goal today as well. He's small but very skillful and at complete ease with the ball at his feet Pedro: Attacking midfielder, the Benfica academy manager's son! Similar to Alton in that he is at ease with the ball at his feet and dribbles well. Also can cross really well Watch out for these lads in the coming years! Many other good performances from the whole team too
Know Wardle, sounds like a prospect for us, dont we have some sort of connection with Benfica we did a few years ago?
Yeah think we visited their facilities last year and vice versa and they were very impressed with what we offered so Pedro came here as part of that. Had hoped we'd have a friendly against them this year
