Rep I deal with has CRV - dunt seem to be any booit space.</p> Thinking of contract hiring RR sport - our lass the environmentalist will go ape, but what's new. They as costly to run as they say ? </p> </p>
It's only the fuel differential. The new engined Rangie is better but no where near a half decent economy. But that's not why you get one is it? If you factor in a 22 MPG for a RR and do the sums for a car doing average mileage you can work out the cost difference. But you knew that. Sell it to her on safety. The car weighs 2 tons, will stop on a tanner and will absolutely f**king destroy most family saloons at 50 MPH without so much as a scratch on your bumper. Also, being nice and high you get a great view of whats in front and can look sneeringly down on the peons as you swish your gas-gurgling way past them.
I thought about a Range Rover, but settled on a crew cab pick up truck. Commercial vehicle so you can claim all the vat back. Your company can pay your personal fuel for only £500 off your tax code rather than the £4000 or so for a "Car" Persanal benefit in kind only 3k rather than lord alone knows Ranage Rover emissions. They cost a damn site less in the first place, even with full leather, alloys, air con etc. Road tax £180 rather than £400 And the boot. **** me you could fit Burkino faso in there. Top speed still over a tonne. Only disadvantage I've worked out so far is the leaf springs on the back. Makes them handle like a boat.
£500 fuel benefit on vans Not sure if it's gone up to £1000 this year - I just got a coding notice through with £1000 for it rather than the previous £500. Can't find anything about an increase, though. Even by my standards this is a particularly boring and non-football related post. But in my defence I was provoked.
Same happened to me (and I'd been with them for a few years) Hadn't made any claims, yet my insurer banged over £100 onto the policy price for no good reason. I rang Privilege and got it cheaper than previously and they threw in the breakdown cover (saving me a further £100). They then rang me back to knock another 10% off because I had contents insurance with them.
its not for no good reason its because you're already a customer and they know that the majority of customers will accept their renewal price without bothering to shop around. The price you get to start with is lower because it's to get you in, once you're there they know they can up the price. Insurance do at and so do breakdown cover
