Beaten 3-0 by a physically stronger and better organised side. Poor first half from the Reds when there was an unwillingness to take or keep the ball. Better 2nd half with Josh Kay more dominant in central midfield with a good range or short and long forward passing. Dylan Mottley-Henry was a constant threat down the right and Romal Palmer showed some great touches. Overall ratings: Brown 7 Kebbie 6 Rodriquez 7 Cowgill 6 Dolan 6 Mottley-Henry 7 Procter 6 Kay 8 Charles 6 McCarthy 5 Palmer 6 There is clearly potential in the side but at this stage only Kay and Mottley-Henry (and possibly Rodriquez) look anywhere near a step up to the first time squad.
Was just about to post a question to see if anyone had been. I guess they're due a lackluster performance after a couple of promising results. Sometimes it just doesn't go for ya. Kay seems to be doing well as of late and Rodriguez had a very good game by all accounts last week, so not all bad. How did Jake Charles show against his previous club, and Cowgill on his return from loan? Thanks in advance!!!
A disappointing and poor performance from the Young Reds. I thought Dylan Motley-Henry played well, and was the only one who looked capable of stepping into the first team squad. I was impressed by their number 10 and number 8
He was up against a very good and quick right back, who generally had the better of him. He looked good in patches with the ball at his feet and going forward. Without the ball not so good. At one point our coach yelled at him 'we're in a game here Jake, when are you going to wake up'. He seems to have al, the attributes to be a success but maybe his attitude might need straightening out.
