I dont mean set out to stifle the other team and try and sneak a goal. I mean actually gone out to attack and win the game.

    The tactics away appear to be either;

    a) try and keep the score respectable, like defending 2-0/3-0/4-0 deficits agaisnt teams we don't expect to get anythin from

    or

    b) try not to lose, rather than try to win.

That being said, he did get wins at Luton, Sarfend, a draw at Leeds (bottom 3) and needed wins at Plymouth & Stoke.

But they were all needed, as it was backs to the wall time. Makes you wonder if we'll have to get deep in relegation before we try winning away again.

Seems like we'll need a good home record to stay up.

Do you think that if we go behind in any game , we can comeback and win this season , like against Hull last year?
Seems to me that Davey does not like to try against the teams he thinks are better than us. Just gives in and lets the opposition have the points.

    Thats what I mean

only trie against teams we are definitely capable of beating, instead of going and trying to get a result against everyone.

I would agree with that. Thing is, why go defensive when we haven't got the best defense? We aren't the Arsenal of old who can grind out 1-0 results away from home.

It's not hard to understand why Ritchie used to get his name sung by the fans, while Davey hasn't. At least if we lost away we'd put up a fight and try to attack - such as Norwich last season.

Yes, we might have conceded a lot, and took the odd hammering, but the fans enojyed it more. Plus, I know goal diff comes into it, but what is the point in trying to use that as a basis of staying up?

People say heavy defeats can affect confidence, that is understandable, but managers always say the players focus on one game at a time - if they can block the future why not the past?

For example Newcastle - people were saying great performance - 2 -0 defeat is ok - an hammering would have affected confidence for today, but we still lost.

To me, a good result in a defensive formation only leads to further defensive formations!

Are you sure you should be posting on here mate

You are starting to talk sense and if you carry on like that, well you never know it may become the norm and that would not be allowed by some.
(by the way, you are not allowed to say anything good about Ritchie. Its the new law)
Far too sensible for this Board.

I try to talk sense - some people on here do seem very opinionated and correct!

Not having a go at Ritchie but even under him we till went a very long time without ever coming from behind to win a game. Something like a full season.
