    PREPARATION

    1. Update iTunes to 8.2
    2. Update iPhone firmware to 3.0 using iTunes (make sure it's 3.0 not any other)
    3. Go to: http://redsn0w.com/ and click 'info here'
    4. Download redsn0w for windows from the torrent or unofficial mirror

    JAILBREAK

    5. After your iPhone has upgraded to firmware 3.0, open redsn0w and follow the onscreen instructions

    DODGY APP SYNCING & CARRIER UNLOCK

    6. Open Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add > http://cydia.hackulo.us/
    7. Open Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add > http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/
    8. Search for AppSync for OS 3.0 and install (this app lets you sync dodgy apps)
    9. Search for Installous and install
    10. Search for ultrasn0w and install (carrier unlock so you can use any SIM card)

    And that's that!!!!!!!!!

    I did mine myself, you need to put Cydia on it first which is called unBricking I think

    I did it with 3.0.1 installed

    ITunes updated my phone to 3.0.1 and locked it from previously been unlocked.

    Just follow Retals instructions. You don't need to do steps 6 8 and 9 as they are only to allow dodgy apps to be downloaded. (You can always do that afterwards).

    DONT upgrade to 3.1 sofrware as there is not unlock for this yet. (3.01 is ok)
