The organiser there distributed the shirts in batches to groups of youngsters who then &quot;adopted&quot; that teams name e.g one group in Berending, Gambia has a group of youngsters wearing old Blades replica shirts in their many guises - they have called themselves the &quot;Berending Blades&quot;.
It would be great to see a similar group all with Reds shirts on. The kids are thrilled with the kits they receive, and it brings the whole community together. The problem is how (where) to collect them &amp; how to get them out there (maybe a sponsor would cover postage costs &amp; get some cracking publicity?)
I know Sheffield FC are also doing something similar with their &quot;Boots to Africa&quot; appeal, and they have had loads of coverage esp on Toby Foster show/ Radio Sheffield.
The Blades/ Owls sent their shirts to a contact in Gambia -

    Hamed I Sowe
    Legal Assistance
    Essau Town
    Lower Niumi District NBD
    Gambia
    West Africa

I'd be happy to sendstart the ball rolling (excuse the pun) - with around 10 Reds/ England shirts that I have at the back of my cupboard. Anyone else interested in getting this off the ground? </td></tr></tbody></table>
