#Update The body brought to Portland Port today has been formally identified by HM Coroner for Dorset as that of professional footballer Emiliano Sala. The families of Mr Sala and pilot David Ibbotson have been updated. Our thoughts remain with them all
Tragic for all concerned, but despite their grief the players family will no doubt be relieved that his body has been found so they can lay him to rest. Let's hope they are able to find the pilot so his loved ones are able to do the same.
I've also read that the FA is on about deducting points FROM Cardiff as they are refusing to pay the transfer fee
That's just speculation from a former FIFA guy who said that not paying COULD lead to punishments including points deductions but it's not come from the fa at all
It's the way they report it. Sensationalise the headline a leave out key details that make the story less interesting to the reader
Agreed. From an investigation point of view though it would have been better to have found the pilot and not salary as I feel they'd have used the private funding to continue the attempts to raise the plane had sala not been found. Regarding the pilot being missing the condition of the front of the plane will be interesting because all photos have focused on the rear. From the photo released the door is wide open, not just partially open but fully opened. Open door plus no pilot? Hmm
Based on the official statements coming out they don’t have to raise the plane . there will be no black box or voice recorder on a plane this size. about 80 % are pilot error ,got a feeling there's going to be a catalogue of errors, the alleged facts leaking out are scary, They said this before the body was identified as the footballer They said there is valuable information in the video and they will give a intern announcement as to why the crash happened at the end of the month . There must be something major and obviously overwhelming in the underwater video evidence plus what they already know that made them come to that conclusion.
What I find suspicious now I know the pilot wasn't in the plane was the cushions being found on the beach?
I've been reading a lot about it and studying the make and model of the plane too because I've nowt better to do. The door to the plane that was opened is right next to the passenger area so if the cushions aren't fastened down they would easily be washed out of the open door so that isn't suspicious really. What is odd is that it is a apparently a really tight squeeze to get from the cockpit to that door (there is no cockpit door) so for a pilot to get out requires a lot of manoeuvrability which as I'm led to believe tends to stop old pilots from using this aircraft because they aren't nimble enough to get in and out. That would suggest that whilst cushions can float out it is highly unlikely that a pilot could do the same via that door. We also know the cockpit didn't become separated because they have seen the instruments on the dash (I don't think it's actually a dash but you know) so either a window has been smashed and sadly his body has been washed out through it or he was awake and conscious and exited through the door under his own power. That would suggest that the passenger was either dead or incapacitated at that time and the pilot thought every man for himself or that he exited for other reasons.
I wasn't suggesting any wrong doing by the way. It's quite thought provoking. I'm inclined to agree that they've crashed Sala has been dead or incapacitated on impact the plane has started filling up with water and the pilot has managed to get out. I can't understand why his body hasn't been found unless he's still alive. That's why I mentioned the cushions. Maybe he used them as a make shift life raft?
