Update on Trust Activities

<div align="left"><div id="dnn_LinkPane"><div id="dnn_ctr439_ContentPane"><div id="dnn_ctr439_ModuleContent"><div id="dnn_ctr439_HtmlModule_lblContent"><div></div><div><div align="left">Barnsley FC and Barnsley FC Supporters' Trust are committed to making Barnsley FC a Community and family club, where all Supporters are made to feel part of the club and have an important role to play in taking Barnsley FC forward.</div>As part of this commitment, regular meetings between Barnsley FC and the Trust will continue but on a more frequent basis. Updates will be given at regular intervals through our monthly meetings, on linked websites (www.barnsleyfc.co.uk www.bfcst.org.uk & wwwbarnsleyone.com) e-mail loops (if you are not on our loop please e-mail bfcst1-subscribe@yahoogroups.com ). Alternatively you call in our matchday office or telephone Alan 07711386307 or Owen on 07778478872, e-mail info@bfcst.org.uk.At our end of season meeting held in April 2009 which was attended by Patrick Cryne & Don Rowing from Barnsley FC and Alan Bloore, Chair and Adrian Willis, Secretary of Barnsley Supporters’ Trust, various items were discussed these being as follows1, Prices for the forthcoming season.
It was agreed that putting prices up wasn’t really an option and maybe a slight reduction would help retain our supporter base. Various payments schemes were also discussed at this timeAs a result you will already know Barnsley FC reduced prices by £20.00. This means supporters are now paying less than they paid in 2005.Barnsley FC also introduced various payment schemes to help Supporters buy their season tickets.2, The Under 11 Child season ticket and its impact.
This had been positive last season. To retain these new Supporters it was agreed to raise the age again this season to Under 12’s on 1st August3, Proposed New Youth Facility under the Beckett Stand, where the Supporters Office is currently located.
The Trust were informed on this joint scheme to link in with Barnsley Council to provide a facility for the Youth of Barnsley. The Trust are to have further discussions with the club with a view to utilising this area as a facility as a Supporters Bar on Match days with certain membership restrictions.As this progresses further discussions will be held and members/supporters notified4, Continuation of the Junior Schemes, 50/50 ticket scheme, use of the academy on match days and Away Mascots.
These will continue as last season and dates and events will be published as soon as they are available.5, Away Supporter/disabled Liaison.
This will continue this season.6, Advertising of Games and events at Oakwell throughout the borough of Barnsley and websites etc.
The Trust agreed to try this system through a Volunteer network of co-ordinators.7, Regular Monthly meetings with The Trust.
The Club agreed to facilitate these again and it was also agreed to hold a series of Open Meetings. The Trust will organise these and publicise them.We have since that meeting being invited to sit on the committee involved with the Open day planning and will assist on the day with a number of the activities.As can be seen from the above these meetings are constructive and achieve benefits for ALL Supporters’. Part of this commitment though is to help Barnsley FC to move forward and in particular get more people in to Support them on a regular basis. This needs help on the ground in the form of volunteers to help run and be part of the various schemes. At present this is certainly relevant to the open day on 26th July.If you want to help take your Club forward please get in touch through the Supporters’ Trust contacts listed above. Ideally you would be members of or want to join the Supporters’ Trust but this is not a requirement to get involved.</div></div></div></div></div></div>

can't get my breath how this club is run sometimes.

maybe the club are more interested in getting the local youth involved than catering for pissheads................just a thought, no offence intended.

I thought it read it could be a supporters bar on matchdays

and a youth facility at other times.

exiled, i drive to most games, just thought, to the clubs benefit

that the times i do have a drink, it would be nice to have 1 at the ground and put money into the club at the same time. but that would be too rational.

The club said they were opening a supporters bar

but then why would they want folk actually spending money at the ground instead of the mount etc most clubs see supporters bars as a gold mine.

As a footnote if the previous mailing is a appetizer for joining instant membership is available Sunday 26th julyopen day.

membership Fees are on an annual basis (with 10% reduction on all non sale items in the club shop from day one,)regular monthly meetings with guest celebrities who you can firequestions at ,bar facilities as well as the 50/50 option of free tkts to some designated away matches for kids who join with their parents.
