I have a puncture on the front right hand side of my mazda 6. I have a space saver tyre that i have put on today. Do you reckon that it will be safe to use this to get to work and back (approx 10miles round trip) as i cant get the new tyre fitted until Thursday morning?
RE: Urgent advise needed. Space saver wheel. Cheers mate. Kind of answers my question, but i was thinking more on the safety side of things.
Yeh, it'll be fine. Just make sure you've fitted it correctly and it's upto the correct PSI and you won't have a problem.
RE: Urgent advise needed. Space saver wheel. Should be ok as long you dont go racing up & darn like Lewis Hamilton. What speed does it say on the sticker on the wheel. Mines 50mph on a Focus
RE: Urgent advise needed. Space saver wheel. My boyfriend reckons it'll be safe enough. he says to check the wheel and it should have a maximum speed limit on there - about 50mph.
How would i check th efitting. I have fitted this in the same way as i would fit any other normal wheel. Is there a special way to fit these space savers?
No, mate. Just make sure the bolts are nice and tight and you'll be fine! I know someone who changed their wheel but decided not to tighten the bolts up, muppet
RE: Also... I have tried to remove the rear wheel but this is stuck. There has been a reaction between the alloy and the steel hub. So the garage told me when i had 4 new tyres fitted approx 6 weeks ago. Will there be any handling difficulties as i have the space saver on the front?
Yeah i have applied quite a lot of pressure. Tightend them in sequence then nipped them up by stand on the wheel brace. Will this be ok?
RE: Also... Where the alloy sit on the wheel hub. The wheel hub is stell and obviousley the alloy is alloy. There is a white substeane a bit like solder is the best way i can describe this. Aparently this is commn on alloy wheel cars. Before you ask the car if 2003 reg.
