Just caught up on this from last night and wow that was painful.
Joe Biden should not be in that position, the man is clearly not in full control of his faculties. It was embarrassing at times.
We thought Sunak V Starmer was bad!

They have two rubbish candidates to choose from. We had better hope for Biden because at least he wants to keep funding Ukraine, even though he doesn't appear to have an end plan.

Oh it will be much better if Biden wins as the team around him will actually be the ones running things. He is nothing more than a figurehead. But I don't understand why, it's embarrassing how confused he is.
Even I could stop myself a giggle when Trump said “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence, and I don’t think he did, either,”
    Or nonsensical comments like
    “We finally beat Medicare”

It’s incredible (for all the wrong reasons) that they’re competing for that job at that age.

People retire in their mid to late 60’s because they’re getting old & they can’t perform mentally & physically like they can at a younger age.

People 70+ shouldn’t be in that position in my opinion.

You only have to hear them both speak to conclude neither are fit enough for the job.

It’s not been ageist. It’s just common sense. If I was 75 I wouldn’t expect to be doing the most high pressured job of my working life. It’s ridiculous.

Absolutely staggering, that the world's greatest superpower believes they are the two strongest candidates.

Baffles me how a country with a population of 340 million can come up with these two clowns as the only options. Surely there has to be younger men who'd like to take on the job. Then again we had Boris and Truss as PM so who are we to criticise.

We think our system is bad. The USA's system is basically run by money. The lobbyists wield all the power. Its as corrupt as the worst African banana republic.

In fairness I don't think Trump has lost anything with age, largely due to the fact he never had it to begin with.

Apart from anything else, I wouldn't want to! With the amount of money they've got I'd have been kicking back in the Caribbean decades ago.

Trump: total & utter chaos & a felon, adulteries galore, serial liar & a total nutter, followed by even bigger nutters. Oh I forgot an insurrectionist.
    Called veterans losers & suckers.

    Biden: Unemployment, down
    Inflation down
    Crime down
    Dow Jones highest level
Wants to protect affordable health care
Wants to make the super duper rich pay their fair share, he's not perfect by any means & yes he's getting old but the last time I looked, getting old isn't a crime.

I stopped up and watched it. Trump just turned it into a Trump rally speech, said nothing new and just lied and avoided answering some questions. He even said babies are being aborted after birth (again)

Biden had a nightmare and just didn’t take the opportunities to hit back. Worrying for the Dems, as was discussed after the debate.

Another one coming up soon, We know that Trump will repeat the same stuff, it’s up to Biden to prepare around that and be much better.

I would love to see someone like Gavin Newsome or Jamie Raskin take the baton for them.

All in all a bad night because no fact checking was done in real time.

Of course it's not a crime and it's good his team want to enact sensible policies on the whole.
However he isn't just getting old he's suffering from what is clearly dementia. He's a confused and frail man and should not be in the position he is. It's embarrassing that this is the choice put forward to American people.
Now it's a very sad situation that he's still a better choice than the other guy but it don't think that should be the rationale for Biden being in office.

I find it crazy that there's a lower age limit on presidential candidates at 35 but no upper limit.

True. I found it really disappointing last night. I’ve been an avid follower of US politics since the last election, and I know Biden is easily the better man. I find it incredibly frustrating to see what’s going on over there. I hope we’re taking notice.

You don't know that for sure, but just look at what he has done for America under his tenure, dementia or not & for me there is no choice has who should be the next president, it's a no brainer.

How bad is it when an old man whose clearly not very well is the best man for the job in a two horse race. That country is clearly bonkers problem being they are the leader of the free world madness.
