Hello everyone - long time no see. Hope you're all well.

Anyway, what's with football mangers says "We're doing this and We're doing that" when they mean "I'm doing this & I'm doing that"?

They're using the Royal We like Thatcher did when she said "We are now a grandparent"

Keith Hill has done it said he came to BFC (may be before but I wouldn't have known) and I noticed Dean Saunders and Dave Jones saying it on Radio Dee Dah earlier.

Are they speaking about the management team or are they abrogating responsibility for their actions as managers and decision makers or deflecting them onto a larger team.

Drives me bonkers whatever the reason

Nearly as bad as "as a staff".

We havent noticed that recently :)

Actually I havent but they could be referring to a management team - depending on the context though

the one that really annoys me is when managers or players refer to themselves in the 3rd person
