Sitting back to defend a 1 nil lead never works and not making subs while players were out on their feet. As usual poya cost us the win. The sooner he's sacked the better

If he's not able or willing to learn from his mistakes then agreed, we should get shut. 6 points thrown away in recent games against Stoke, Fulham and now Reading by getting the lead then just sitting back. Unforgivable.

I thought it was simply down to Reading being better than us. All we were able to do was give the ball back to them, and in many ways we were lucky not to lose. Regardless of what some posters have previously claimed, we just haven't got the players needed to cope at this level.

Nope, it was poor game management from Poya. Was crying out for a sub on 75 minutes but nothing. I get Vic had been out for a while but needed his physical presence to help Morris out

I don’t think reading are particularly better than us, but I agree entirely regarding your last sentence.

It may well have been. But this season didn't start and end today. We just don't have the players, in my honest opinion, to compete at this level.

Same ending in last 3 games. On the balance of play Reading deserved a point. We did bugger al wise attacking wise after our goal and resorted to defending deep. You would have thought after Stoke and Fulham,
Poya might have got the idea.

I know. But what do you do when none of your midfield is capable of putting a foot on the ball or find a team-mate with a simple pass, and your defenders spend all afternoon lumping long balls straight back to the opposition?

We were being outmuscled all over the pitch, and he brought on 8 stone wet through Clarke Odour, after trying to sit back and defend a lead and time waste after 5 minutes.

More points dropped that have been self inflicted. I’m not sure I’ve ever left a game as angry as I have today.

Just imagine what we’d have been like without our loan players…. In fact if you want to sleep tonight, don’t.

This was as much about managerial incompetence, as it was about the players ability to see out the game.
In the last 3 games we've drawn, we have conceded in the 82nd, 86th and 90th+ minutes.
We have dropped 6 points in these 3 games, which would have seen us out of the Relegation Zone today.
We have one of the youngest teams in the Championship, yet we continually run out of steam by the 70th minute.
We knew a Draw was not good enough, but we drop back with 11 men behind the ball and invite pressure.
We knew a Draw was not good enough, but we wait until the 90th minute to bring Victor on.

Victor should’ve been brought on when odour was brought on. Him or Iseka anyway

Absolutely right. We were abysmal from start to finish, simply outfought throughout, by better players who were up for it today.

Can't blame our two central defenders who did very well this aft.

All our players are woefully inconsistent. Most are capable of championship performances, but not often enough each week.

Some just aren't good enough anyway.

no I don’t think they are - but today they looked and played so much better than us. They pressed and closed down and kept the ball when they had it and were always in space. Contrast that to us who couldn’t put more than 2 passes together- they did their job miles better than us today. Neither team created much in the way of chances but they were better.

This everybody back in the box for corners, free kicks etc. WTF. Reading playing constantly finding themselves in oceans of room inside the box. Our manager and some of our players are naive beyond belief when it comes to shutting the opposition out. Our 2 main attacking loan midfielders contributed almost nothing today ( not through lack of effort) Quina (unusually)wasn’t demanding, or going looking for the ball, Bassi had little of the ball, they seemed confused as to what their roles were today. If anyone of our team and coaching staff was surprised at reading scoring in that second half, then we may as well all give up. Nothing was done to stop or change anything, even if the bench is weak, we still should’ve done better. So disappointed today with our performance.

Sitting so deep so early through choice totally kills our momentum in the game, you could see the goal was coming. We're much harder to play against when were pressing teams in their own half rather than inviting them on to us.
Negative tactics cost us today but still all to play for.

I can cope with losing I’m a Barnsley fan but lack of fight. Lack of pride. Dully sliding into relegation. It’s hard to take.

Managerial appointments this season both massive errors. We are a poor team but should have had enough to stay out of the bottom 3 if coached better.

Not sure it was through choice though. They had players capable of holding onto the ball and finding team-mates with passes. We didn’t.
