According to their local paper apparently delay has been caused sorting deals for back room staff…. https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...brom-set-to-announce-valerian-ismael-as-boss/
If you're going just go. Would've been nice to stay more than 8 months but hey ho. We need to crack on with our pre-season preparations. If thats with a new boss then so be it.
As well as he did it's hard to be bothered that he's off. Probably not helped that most of us never got to see him in person to build a connection watching him by the dugout from inside the ground.
Exceptionally good job done in the most difficult of seasons. Well done Big Val and good luck at the Hawthorns (except for when you play us, obviously!)
Totally agree. He'll be remembered for a wonderful season. But he's left before he can build rapport with fans in the stadium. He's not stayed long enough to leave a lasting legacy. Its a shame but its his call, and now we move on.
It’s a mixed goodbye from me. In short,,, loved the results, hated the football. I’ll not miss the feeling of relief on hearing the final whistle whether we were winning or not!
And if we aren't it'll be 6 months, do well they **** off do badly the board **** them off either way it's more upheaval
Problem with Val is he'll now be the covid manager. I'll kinda associate him with been sat in a long dark winter lockdown watching Ifollow
I thought he was a bit of a one trick pony. I am pleased with what he has done with the team because we have another string to our bow. Keep these lads together with a good new coach and we can mix and match the way we play and be competent at it. Playing out from the back, Struber style. High press, Vals style.
I agree his football wasn't very nuanced but I've never seen a more together group of players and he managed to get some exceptional results out of some very middle-of-the-road players. He turned us into a battering ram at exactly the right time. Massive loss for me.
Done a remarkable job and there's no getting away from that. But I'm glad I don't have to watch this style of football at Oakwell any longer.
Its a shame I'd have liked him to stay another year but this was always likely once we failed to win in the playoffs. Back to the manager lottery it is then. After a bad start the last 3 managers our owners have appointed have all been successful. must be due another duff one, especially as we cant go and grab an up and coming European one anymore. No clue who we will go for but hopefully the owners have planned for this, and we must be a fairly tempting option. Would love Wilder but I don't see that happening. not sure what realistic options we have.
Think it’s a strange move for the guy but everyone has a price. Been watching the Crystal Palace documentary series and it’s remarkably similar to Dougie Freedman ditching them for Bolton. You can tell the guy still deeply regrets that move to this day. I suppose in Vals case the bond with the club isn’t as deep but we’ll see where everyone is down the line. As for his style of play I quite enjoyed it! This tiki taka stuff bores me to tears.
