Ramirez has just clattered into the man city keeper and var have got involved and according to sky directed the referee to issue a yellow card. Since when did VAR have the power to give players a yellow card? I thought they were only allowed to get involved with goals penalties and red cards.
I guess they can by definition say it's a foul, but not sufficient for a red card. Then the ref makes his decision to hand out a yellow. FWIW i didn't think it was even a yellow. The ball was there to be won.
Agree, there to be challenged for. Football is going to have collisions sometimes, they don't have to be fouls. Giving him a yellow makes him look guilty of something, and he wasn't.
Because they'd have said it's a foul but not a red. Commentator just worded it different I imagine - agree with the comments though, he had every right to go for the ball
