I’ve just watched the Southampton penalty v Leicester being saved. The keeper moved 20 minutes before the ball was kicked. Why no VAR check? Is it used only in certain circumstances? I’m at a loss tbh.
Latest rules, goalkeeper can move, he can even step in front of the line at any time as long as he has 1 foot behind the line at the times the ball is struck.
You can move sideways as much as you like.. just not allowed to be fully in front of the goal line as the ball is kicked as i understand the rule.
I think it’s me being a bit thick, I hadn’t associated jumping up and down and side to side with diving to stop the shot. Senior moment!
