Christ on Saturday we were saying how well they played, now without even seeing them, we lose an away game by 1 goal and people have the daggers out.

Great, innit. Radio is a great medium to judge how well your team played, I find.

Carbon was back to himself, useless for me. Nicky Wroe played well enough, overall he did ok, gave the ball away at times, although everyone on the park did. Conlan came on and played well for me, his first touch is great, get off his back.

As for colgan, couldnt really say if he was at blame for there 2nd goal, because of my row A sh!te view.

Flinders for Colgan, Reid back in.

    I think his point is...

that although his first touch might be great...it's his second and third that are no good

Not driected at your post I think Conlons First is good too.

I think he adds somthing to the team and is a good alternative to bring off the bench (but only at this level)

I agree - don't know how any1 can say that Conlon's first touch is poor - even lastnight, on a wet, greasy pitch he still managed to fetch the ball down and get it under control immediately. Just because he's not going to get us 20 goals per-season does not make him a bad player! I thought the game yesterday was crying out for him to be brought on earlier than he actually was. Too many high balls that Hayes and Nardiello are too lightweight to do anything with! Would have liked to have seen Hayes working off Conlon in those conditions - rather than Hayes having to be the "target man".

Instead of having Conlon as a target man

which is a laughable concept anyway, whay not try passing to Hayes and Nardiello?

I agree that Conlon's touch is good. But take into account his lack of strength and pace and the fact he's always 20 yards behind play and you'll see why he's not good enough

RE: I said his first touch is great !!!

People have preconceived idea that because he came on a free from Darlington then he must be crap.

And they are not prepared to give him a chance.

Liverpool signed Ian Rush from Chester City. Whilst I am sure that he never going to be an Ian Rush I am as equally aure that in certain circumstances he can do a job for us and can be a valuable member of our squad

It's nowt to do with where he came from...

    or how much we paid

We watched him last season. He was not good enough then and nowt will change with him
