    Players signed on 1 year contracts who will be able to leave for free in 12 months time,beaten to the signing of a striker by Bradford City (32million in debt). Either we are offering peanuts or something is very wrong in how we are selling the prospects for the coming season.

    if we don't stay up at least we're not saddled with huge wages?</p>

    I don't see anything particularly wrong with 1 year contracts-it certainly should focus minds to play out of their skin for a new one-with us or someone else</p>

    Well there is that....but whoever is selling the club to players isnt very effective to date.

    Important point here.....selling the club to waverers

    Who is there at the club who you would consider a sales person ???
    Someone who can say to a player ........we have this planned and that planned and are talking to this player and that player
    Yer know, someone like the person who sold Cardiff to McPhail

    lets say (all though I don't want to)....

    we do get relegated, everyone on one years deals will do the honerable thing a do a runner, look after themselves etc etc whilst we then have to rebuild. What about,

    "hey look, 2 year minimum, and if we do go down, you better hope that someone stumps up a transfer fee, or you better get you fookin boots on and get us back up"

    Makes sure the players have a sense of responsibility so they can't just "walk away".

    Barnsley offer

    say £1500 per week and another club offers £2000 per week, then its no contest however much selling is done.
