Very Disappointed about the result last night......I see we had a different pairing at centre halves

Hassell goes off so it were Kay and Reid in the middle of defence
I cant remember them two playing together before this season
But they could have at the begining of the season
Anyway - we lost by a looping header into the box
How many times does the other teams come back at us ???
This shows a lack of character in the team ie. a centre half 30+ years old that can keep the team spirit going

 

We are 3rd in the league , so it doesnt happen that often.

we are 3rd (third) THIRD! we've got 10 games to go and look to have secured a play off spot. what more do you want?? lack of character? what a load of ballacks. of course other teams come back at us when we are winning, that always happens in footy.

Would have taken a point at start of game - midweek away games are diffcult,,,,if we can build on last couple of results on Saturday with a win we'll be flying.

I said before the match that a point would be great. I dont budge from that now. A great point from a long, tough trip. What other centre half pairing could we have had?

Then you'll know the team was changed on 3 minutes. Was on top for thew 1st half the AFCB came out well pumped up for the 2nd half. The reds gave a great defensive display against a team all about your height.

So personally I'm delighted with a point, keeping us 1 point of auto places.

If you'd been asked at 6:45 yesterday evening if you'd take a point I bet you'd have jumped at it. OK so it looks like 2 points dropped but be realistic.If we take points off Hudders, Southend, Brentford & Swansea and can beat the likes of Hartlepool, Oldham, Blackpool away and Bradford & Bournemouth at home we'll be right in the mix come the last day at Walsall when I think everything, and I do mean everyhing , will be decided!

But its knowing that there is a lack of metal running through the side that concerns me
I'm talking about a Redfearn type player stood in the middle of the field shouting out instructions
We haven't got that sort of character in the team
And I think this is going to be vital in the last 10 matches and the play offs
This is the reason why I have said if we had 2 centre halves 30+ year old, that were injury free, played side by side every match, and could motivate the younger kids.......well, I think by now we would be 10 points clear at this stage

Taggert may have been good at this time of year
Also the guy (forgot his name) who left West Ham for nowt would have been a good un
There are players out there
There are centre halves out there that have played Championship maybe premeirship football and are a season away from retireing that would be good for Barnsley

 

so you want 2 injury free , 30 year old, experienced , good quality centre halves

don't you think that every team in the league wants that?

I see your point, but I think its too late now to start drafting in new players to organise/upset the team , so get behind the guys we have and ya never know.</p>
