Honestly, in my opinion the only two excellent performances from the top teams have been Italy against Belgium, and Spain against Turkey Yes England haven't been great, but we've played against 3 teams who have put 10 men behind the ball and made it difficult to play. We're through and that's all that matters Look at some of the other big nations: France, in an easy group, fell over the line against Romania, didn't score until the 90th minute against Albania and couldn't beat a very average Swiss side who we beat comfortably twice in qualifying Germany fell over the line against Ukraine, who have lost to Northern Ireland since, and struggled against Poland Against Czech Republic, Spain played a bit like we did last night. Yes, they won, but only just Italy weren't too good either against Sweden and fell over the line So whilst we need to improve against better teams, we're through, and that's all that matters. Of course, lots of the examples I've mentioned, the bigger teams have won. They know how to. That's what we need to be able to do. Perhaps it's a bit of naïveté from a youn team, against the experience of Spain and Germany. But anyway, I'd rather we were better in the latter stages, and if we can be more clinical I'm sure we can beat anyone Just my opinion anyway
I agree that England could beat anyone in a single match (witness the 3-2 in Germany). However my feeling is that England winning the Euros would be on a par with Leicester winning the Premiership. Not impossible but not that likely.
