Like it a lot even though I won't be able to go. Put it on player please. http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/st-holder-evening-with-david-flitcroft-904029.aspx
I'm sure it's just a well intended open invite Gally. The Supporter's Trust still have a very important role to play....great opportunity to get a statement from Ben though, on how he sees the Club working formally with 'us'
But won't they still do that for the Trust too? I meant it was a good idea the club are interacting directly with supporters by inviting season ticket holders in. Something we would have thought unthinkable a year ago? I would hope it doesn't undermine any plans the trust have, but maybe if the club continues this accessibility drive, the objectives of the Trust will alter too? I joined the trust filled the form in and paid my sub, but haven't heard anything.
Do i take it this has caused abit of upset at the trust @Gally. Will trust meetings be continuing at the club........
I agree. I also think the Supporters Trust is as vital as ever, but the open, approachable vibes coming out of Oakwell are also very refreshing. They always cam across as guarded and suspicious when things were filtered through the Trust. I wouldn't be upset Gally, it can only be a good thing?
Given that our fist meeting of the year is always the management team and the format of the night seems identical to ours I think they could have least had the common courtesy to inform us. Can't speak for anyone else but yeah I'm a tad annoyed. I all up for more open access to the club, just find it a bit rude!
The problem you've got Gally is that the ST will always be pushed out to the edges when things are going well. It's when they're not the ST will earn their bacon. Everything is rosy so the powers that be are well up for a chat. Let's see if they're so open in December and we're bottom.
It's been open to all for a few years. There's also a special AGM in august with an agenda item to make membership free to all fans(I think that's what was agreed a the last fans forum)
Yes, that would put my nose out too. It's a new regime who may not be aware of the etiquette, it would have been prudent to touch base first and have made it a joint project.
Everything I've heard so far has been about engagement, collaboration & learning. This can only be a good thing, just need to make sure we remain positive & constructive with our comments at that meeting...anyone at the Lamproom will have witnessed Flicker spring into action, when that dude asked the question about Sir Bobby
