I thought it was going to be the usual one camera on top of the west stand and no commentary production. But no - it's the Sky-style Everton Live programme that went out world wide on Saturday. Two commentators, both really good, with lots of messages sprinkled in from viewers who were watching it all over the world (including one Evertonian who said he was a mile from Oakwell!)

I watched the first half last night and it was excellent. I wish we could afford to do it like that. Had I known it was going to be so good I wouldn't have bothered travelling on Saturday! Multiple camera angles and lots of action replays, including incidents like that one when we gave the first goal away.

Hammill REALLY was an idiot and I fear for his ability to keep his temper once Championship defenders start biting at his ankles. He was only obstructed (by Baines I think) but he then decided to chop their player off at the knees, right outside our area. We know what happened next. I thought on Saturday he had been badly fouled, but he wasn't. He was fouled a few times, as were others, and the referee was overly-lenient towards the Everton players, but there is still no excuse for what he did, and where he did it. It could have been a red card as well as a goal scoring opportunity, so he really needs to watch himself.

Anyway, I just thought I would mention the high standard of match coverage in case any other Player subscribers had decided not to bother watching it. Despite the result, it IS worth watching and just reinforces (for me) what a bargain Player is.

I watched their coverage live and was quite impressed, I'm not sure if all their friendlies have such a high production value with all the cameras though, I understand that it was actually beamed lived to a number of countries on high profile networks like ESPN and BeIn Sports.

They charge 4 quid a person to view it so you would imagine they would get several thousand at least paying, maybe more, that's a lot a money to put together a very professional broadcast and still make a fair bit of cash as well.
