Almost changed my mind but I've made mi bed now I'm gonna lay in it. I'll have to soak up some pre match atmos in the boozer. At least I wont have to rush the last pint.
Nobody can fault you for sticking to your principals. Especially when tomorrow night fans at Arsenal versus Liverpool could get in for 10 or 5.
Actually, I wouldn't have gone but my Dad bought me a ticket. Had this been the FA Cup, it would have been a whole different matter...
Agreed Going to be very strange tonight knowing the reds are at home and not being there. I made the decision not to go along with 6 or 7 other fans who all sit together and all season ticket holders - tonight we will be sitting together in the pub, just hoping for a good performance.
I totally understand your point of view. Fact is, the customer charter was changed surreptitiously and that's a pretty despicable thing to do in my book. Not that I would expect anything different from Barnsley Football Club. And I agree that the cup games should cost the same as the league matches. I realise both clubs have to agree on admission charges, but I haven't read anything that suggests Barnsley wanted to charge £20 but Man Utd forced them to increase the charges. However, I love watching Barnsley play. Going to a Barnsley game is the thing I look forward to most. When I'm sat in my seat in the Ponty end I feel at home. When we play these big matches and particularly when we're winning there's no place in the world I'd rather be. Certainly not watching it on telly which is a very poor substitute. If we win tonight you'll regret not being there for years. It's well over twenty five years since we drew 0-0 with Liverpool on that foggy, snowy night, but a thread about that game appears on here every few months and each time I'm taken back to that night and I'm so thankful me dad got me a ticket. The only person to lose out by not going tonight is you. You've made your point and some of us agree with you, but **** your principles, you've got an hour and a half to get down to Oakwell and get a ticket. Life can be hard work, but seeing your team beat a set of ba.stards like Man Utd doesn't half make it easier for a few days.
Quite funny that the club always goes on about the league being the bread and butter and the cup game just being a bonus, yet the league cup game being priced higher makes it seem a more important match.
i'm not bes tpleased with the price but a fiver is not alot its one less burgerking i eat on the way there.
I hope I regret not going!! If that makes any sense. It'll never top beating scouse at anfield, man u and chelski in t'proper cup though. I'll see all the action which sort of makes up for it and in the pub there's probably likely to be less plastic man u fans!

It hit me at about 5.15 when a car passed me on the M1 with a sign saying come on U Reds in the back window.
Strange sensation not to be going. I need a pub near the Hospital to watch it after Ive dropped gaffer off at work.
Its Man Us fault, the greedy Barstewards, not BFC they wanted us to charge £41 fact.
